About Me

I grew up in Minnesota, moved to Arizona in 2009, and have worked in various fields including education, aviation, and health care. I have also been an entrepreneur and small business owner. My dream was to complete my college education and find meaning and purpose in a profession where I could make a difference. My husband and I have a blended family with six children, and three grandchildren. Raising a child with developmental disabilities fueled my passion to help individuals and families access support and services to enrich their lives, instill hope, and find connection. I have enjoyed volunteer work with several community organizations including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Special Olympics, and Young Life. As an avid believer of lifelong learning, I completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Phoenix in 2016. I was fortunate to intern and work in an integrative family practice setting over the past four years. I have worked with a wide range of clients with various issues using an eclectic approach of mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused interventions, Internal Family Systems therapy, and specialized training in trauma-focused care and EMDR. Making the decision to see a counselor takes courage, strength, and vulnerability in a personal journey of self-exploration and increased awareness. It’s about making a new and empowered relationship with oneself. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental space for each unique client’s experience in working through pain, loss, trauma, grief, and multiple life challenges.
