EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING (EMDR)

EMDR is an evidenced -based treatment modality proven highly effective for individuals who have experienced trauma. Research shows success with many other issues including anxiety, stress, complicated grief, addictions, and panic disorders. EMDR combines somatic and cognitive based therapies to heal from the past, focus on the present, and prepare for the future.

INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS THERAPY

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the belief that each of us is born with an undamaged Self, the essence of one’s true nature. IFS therapists trust in the inherent healing wisdom of the Self present in all of us. When a person’s true Self is leading, they experience calm, curiosity, compassion, connection, courage, confidence, clarity, and creativity. My participation with the IFS Online Circle over the past year has opened up a wonderfully healing component to my practice both personally and professionally.

TRAUMA-FOCUSED TREATMENT

I am a strong believer in the statement, “it’s not what’s wrong with you, it’s what has happened to you.” Whether a client has experienced BIG traumas or little traumas, a skilled clinician addresses the impact traumatic experiences have on mental, emotional, behavioral, physical, and spiritual well-being.

MINDFULNESS-BASED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY

We have learned to be human “doings” rather than human “beings.” Learning skills in breathing, meditation, and awareness literally rewires the brain so clients can see themselves separate from their thoughts and emotions. Combining CBT tools with mindfulness strategies helps clients make sense of, tolerate, and manage intense feelings.
